RE: What do "free elections" cost now?
National Public Radio reported on November 9:

Trump won in Pennsylvania by 142,312 votes. Pennsylvania has 19 electoral votes.
Trump won in Georgia by 117,172 votes. Georgia has 16 electoral votes.
Trump won in Wisconsin by 29,419 votes. Wisconsin has 10 electoral votes.

This total of 288,903 differential presidential votes in these three “battleground states” might never have been cast . . . except for the voter fraud perpetrated by Elon Musk.
Trump won the presidential election by 42 electoral votes. The total electoral college vote in these same three states is 45.

The math is simple; the damage done to the United States Constitution is incalculable.

Getting back to the topic's question, maybe this has something to do with it.

Harris paid Oprah $1 million in failed bid to help campaign: report

I wonder how many votes this generated.

So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in?

Gene, this appears to be an erroneous link. Please try again.

On the eve of the election, the billionaire's Super PAC is defending its cash giveaways to registered voters in swing states.

Elon Musk, the most important mega-donor of the 2024 presidential election, has spent the final stretch of the campaign awarding $1 million from his Super PAC to a different swing state voters daily in order to boost his favored candidate, Donald Trump. Such a giveaway is unprecedented in American politics, for a very important reason: It may well be illegal, as the Department of Justice has warned Musk.

I think this discussion has reached an end. The goal of this thread was to look at how much more money is spent on elections nowadays than in Lincoln's time. But I no longer see a connection to Lincoln.
