Is this a photo of Mary Lincoln?
The web site, Lincoln / Net has it titled "Mary Lincoln at 19 Years"

The web site doesn't have much to say, can anyone tell us more?

I would say "no." The earliest daguerreotypes were made c.1839-1840, and Mary was 18/19 in 1837-1838. Personally, I have never seen that image before - I have no idea who the young lady is, but I am confident it is not Mary Todd. As far as I know, the earliest daguerreotype of Mary was taken c. 1846 and is here:

Personally, I am confident in saying that it is not Mary Todd; and I also do not believe that it is a daguerreotype.

It's probably a CDV copy of another image, possibly of an ambrotype. The clothing and hairstyle appear to be from the 1860's, and the lady in the photograph looks nothing like Mary in her photos from that period. She also looks (sorry, Mary) much younger than Mary would have been in the 1860s.

I agree with Susan. The clothing and hairstyle are those of the 1860's. This photo is not Mary.

I do not believe it is Mary at all. The facial structure is quite different. Also, that image does not appear in Ostendorf's definitive "The Photoghraphs of Mary Todd Lincoln."

She doesn't look like anyone in the Todd family to me. At best, she might be a Mary Lincoln at age 19, but not THE Mary Lincoln.

Susan, you are correct by saying she "might be a Mary Lincoln at age 19, but not THE Mary Lincoln." While we are eliminating people, let's also say that she is NOT Mary Harlan Lincoln; Mary "Mamie" Lincoln Isham; or Mary Todd Lincoln Beckwith.
