Mary knew about shooting irons intended to be used, and certainly not for hunting. I am against death penalty in general, but I find her guilty of conspiracy and not reporting whatever she knew to the police (even if she had only known of kidnapping it should have led to police taking action to prevent) - so, from the point of US law that applies here - I think this was in "Blood on the Moon" but don't remember exactly, wouldn't participating (actively or passively) in kidnapping the president also "provide" the option of death penalty?
