I just received a Facebook update indicating that the Salmon P Chase's Papers are now available digitally at LOC.

Thanks Jim, there are probably some interesting things in there.
I remember reading there was a bit of a sex scandal at the Treasury Dept. while Chase was Secretary. Also something I don't understand that involved the printing of money, a gigantic printing press?? that never quite worked right. (I vaguely remember reading about this in Jacob Moglever's book "Death to Traitors" book about Lafayette Baker.) , It would be interesting to see what, if anything, Chase ever wrote regarding it. I also wonder if there is anything that might identify "the New York crowd?
