I don't know how reliable this is. I got out my Ouija board, and it said Mary liked Jip better than Fido. No way.

RE: Mary's Charlatans by Memoirs of Henry Villard
Hello all, I am the screenwriter of "Saving Lincoln," a new movie about Lincoln's conflicted tenure as Commander-in-Chief, as told by his close friend and bodyguard Ward Hill Lamon. We have a seance scene in the movie. Nettie Colburn was a young medium who was introduced to Mary Lincoln by her seamstress and close companion, Elizabeth Keckly. Mary was convinced that through Nettie, she could communicate with Willie. In our scene, Lincoln himself attends a seance in which Nettie "channels" a character named Dr. Bamford, who then proceeds to give Lincoln advice on how to run the war.

For those interested int his topic, Nettie Colburn (later Nettie Colburn Maynard) wrote a book called, "Was Lincoln a Spiritualist?" It is available for free on Google books.

I briefly glanced at this book this morning (Was Lincoln a Spiritualist - printed in 1891) Interesting......, I think author Vaughan Shelton would have liked it.

Thank you for letting us know this was online.
