Sketch of JWB
Vintage sketch of John Wilkes Booth. Not sure if anyone has seen this one before, it was new to me so I thought I would share.

RE: Sketch of JWB
What modern actor does Booth resemble? Cary Grant, James Bond? Some other guy? I wouldn't want to be on stage with him, with a knife or sword in his hand.

I do not know, but I think the artist used this photo for his sketch.

I've spent 25 years of my life wishing that someone would cast Johnny Depp as John Wilkes Booth! Too late, now, he's over the hill.

Yes, Roger, I thought of this picture also.

In response to who looks like John Wilkes Booth today, I have always thought Jesse Johnson, the actor who portrayed Booth in the Killing Lincoln docudrama, strongly resembles Booth. I thought he also did an excellent job portraying Booth's character in the film. See photo below:

You are quite right about Jesse - good looking and good acting.

Laurie,

Here is another split screen photo of Jesse Johnson as Booth and as himself. I think that these photos really show his "Booth" resemblance.

Also a really NICE, down to earth guy!

I'm sold! Now, let's convince Spielberg to give Booth equal time and cast Jesse in the spotlight.

Michael Palin in the 1970s (and a bit Paul McCartney in Sgt. Pepper "shave").

RE: Sketch of JWB
I would have liked to have seen Johnny Depp as Booth. Laurie's right though - it can't happen now. :/
