Yogi Berra
I was saddened this morning to read of the passing of the great Yogi Berra. Although I am a Cubs' fan Yogi was one of my favorite players when I was growing up.

And besides Lincoln, he is probably the most quoted American.

New Yogi quote from his obit:

Mrs Yogi---When you die, do you want to be buried in St Louis, New York or New Jersey?
NB These are the places Yogi lived.

Yogi---I dunno. Surprise me.

Thanks for the memories....

Yogi always had a lesson to teach in his own way. I will miss you Yogi, as I now have one less Yankee to heckle.

I have never been a Yankee fan. But, there is no way that I could not have appreciated Yogi Berra as a person and as a player. He had both talent and a sense of humor. Since this is a Lincoln forum, you have to wonder how the two of them would have gotten along, if they could have met each other, despite their different centuries.

Aside from equestrian sports, I'm not much of a baseball/football/basketball fan, although I played these sports (except football) as a kid -- Yogi was most certainly a part of my childhood - as I used to hear my dad speak of him a lot.....he will be missed!
