Enjoy these two videos with the same vocal group in 1957 and again in 2004, and then tell me what famous actor is the son of the lead singer of the group.

Oh well, it was the thought that counts. Gene is always so good about finding appropriate songs to brighten up some of our discourses. My apologies to the Hanks family.

Jay and the Americans had a huge hit with "Cara Mia" www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sFy5_kmEi4

Check out Jay Black doing it 37 years later. www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oFW6rmtUXY

Jay Black, like many recording artists, had more downs than ups, but boy, he still had some pipes.

When I was working for the American College of Cardiology, I was talking to a cardiologist turned pharma rep, and it turned out he had once been the lead guitar player for Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs. I thought that was cool because the first song I ever played in a band in public was "Little Red Riding Hood," Marathon, Florida Teen Center, 1966.

Cara Mia- what a great song-- a mini opera!
