RE: Who is this person?
I've been out fa-la-la-ing all day. When I first saw the question, I immediately thought it had to be a lawyer (which Eva later confirmed). My thoughts were 1.) Walter Cox, who defended Arnold, O'Laughlen, and maybe Spangler(?) and 2.) Frederick Stone. However, Frederick Stone was a Charles County native and is buried in his home county (I think). Walter Cox was a D.C. native of Georgetown, and Oak Hill is in Georgetown, so that's my final guess. Do I win a million dollars?
A little extra, Cox was appointed a federal judge later on and presided over the trial of assassin Charles Guiteau. Since we're wandering through beautiful Oak Hill, what other child of a President - besides William Wallace Lincoln - was buried there and then re-interred elsewhere? |

RE: Who is this person?
1. Michael, I do not know if he were a Copperhead, but my guess is that he was one.
2. Laurie, the correct answer is neither Walter Cox nor Frederick Stone. Good guesses, though, as the correct answer was a lawyer as Eva correctly asked. |

Hint #3: I would guess that most of you folks are thinking of the wrong trial.

RE: Who is this person?
I'm thinking of Arabella Kennedy (stillborn) and Patrick Bouvier Kennedy (died after a few days) both later re-interred at Arlington ... but neither , I think, were previously buried at Oak Hill.
