Lincoln Tomb

On my bucket list is a visit to the Lincoln Tomb. I was never there. All I know is from you tube footage and stories told by others. Of course a lot of you have visited the tomb. I'm in search for a floor plan of the tomb. And also want to know where the eight different sculptures of AL are situated. I have made a rough sketch. Can someone help? Thanks.

Here is the way the tomb was originally designed (from the book Stealing Lincoln's Body).

The caption reads: "In the original design of the Lincoln Monument, there was no direct access from the rotunda to the tomb chamber. In 1876 visitors to Lincoln's grave walked around to the back of the monument, where a steel door opened into the room known as the catacomb. There Lincoln's remains lay above ground inside a white sarcophagus."

The Lincoln sarcophagus is not the final resting place of Lincoln. He is buried 6 feet north, 10 feet under in a steel cage filled with concrete, head facing east.

Herbert Wells Fay, Custodian Lincoln Tomb is saying on Aug 19, 1933 in BURIALS AND REMOVALS OF LINCOLN in Week by Week:

Six feet from the north wall or thirty inches north of the cenotaph and ten feet below the floor is the present location. Mr. Lincoln's body is placed with head to the west.

It was not necessary to move Lincoln's body in the 1931 construction because the cenotaph was placed six feet and thirty inches south from the inside north wall, with foundation as low as that of Lincoln's grave.

It is very worthy of a bucket list item. As least for me- and I'm sure for countless others- the place has a sacred feel to it. I have the same sense everytime I visit there. There are many notables buried in the cemetery there if you have the time to check them out.
