Herb, I don't know about the Eastman House but I was shocked to see how small the lot of the Seward House is nowadays and the Newport Mansions are built on comparatively small lots for their size. However, they spared no expense in building those mansions. The interior of the Breakers is breathtaking but then again so are the Green Mountains.

I once had a salesman at Surratt House who said that he had traveled in every state of the Union except Hawaii and that Vermont was absolutely the most beautiful in terms of Mother Nature. I have only seen a small portion of it, but I would tend to agree.
