RE: His name was Notley Anderson - not Nodley
The deeds in the liber books for Prince George's County address this issue of Fox Hall and where it lies. In the descriptions with some of the land transfers, it talks of Fox Hall being partly in the county of Prince George's County in Maryland and being partly in Washington County of the District of Columbia. Some of the people may be described as living in Prince George's County while others are described as living in Washington County. They also sometimes did not reside at Fox Hall but on other lands in the extended families.

So, these land transactions for Fox Hall, may appear in the Prince George's County records, accessible online, or possibly in the Districts' records which I have not found online. It appears that, for the most part, the transactions were recorded in the libers for PGC. Then, again, that may be influenced by those records that are accessible to me.

Theodore Neale and Sarah Kirby were out in Kentucky and sent their son Zachariah Kirby, with proper papers, to transact some of the land transfers.

William Wallace Kirby is where I run into problems. He is buried at Oak Hill Cemetery in the district where an obituary posted on findagrave lists his father as Samuel Kirby who was in the undertaking business. William died at his residence at 422 H St NW. Apparently, he did not wander very far. In the 1850 census where I was hoping to find him with his parents and siblings, he may be down south working on the railroad.

The info that he is in the Oldest Inhabitants might be helpful. These records are over at the Kiplinger Library. Depending on when he registered for it, they may have some genealogical info. I have not yet pulled the info for a couple of my relatives that were members, so I am not sure how helpful that will actually turn out. I will have a gander at the index to the records of the Oldest Inhabitants and see what boxes his records are in. I will have to put him on my list of records to request from Kiplinger.

That is an interesting story with John Surratt, Jr. and Kirby after the trial.
