One food he considered "conducive to his own health" was apples ("Apples," he said, "agree with me."). I wonder if apple pie was in Mary's repertoire?

BTW, I absolutely love the gingerbread story, the childhood passage itself is almost a biblical one.

Also, being an apple lover myself, I wonder if a "Lincoln apple" has yet been cultivated/dedicated?
