The Long Walk that Wasn't So Long.....
I'm sure that Barry and John E probably know this - but according to the Burlington Free Press (VT), July 7, 1865, the walk from the prison door to the gallows was only "2 Rods" or according to conversion, about 33 feet!

Certainly NOT the long mile that was shown in Redford's 2011 The Conspirator....
