Many thanks to Susan for sending these images. Susan writes, "These are several documents from the pension file of William W. Spencer, the third and last husband of Sarah Slater, a/k/a "The Lady in the Veil." Sarah received his pension after his death. Nothing new in them, but I thought they might be of interest. Note how studiously Sarah avoids any mention of her first husband, Rowan Slater, from whom she was divorced."
