From Dave Taylor's 2017 talk on the life Junius Jr at Tudor Hall:

- Junius Jr. was conceived while Junius Sr. and Mary Ann Holmes were "honeymooning" on Madeira

- After Mary became pregnant they got onto another ship and continued onto America landing in Virginia

- Once they arrived in the United States Mary followed Junius Sr. around to several cities during his acting tour.

- Following Junius Sr's performances in Charleston SC, Mary's pregnancy had progressed to where she could no longer follow Junius Sr, so she stayed in Charleston while he continued onto New Orleans.

- Junius Jr. was born in Charleston in December 1821
