RE: Presidential Assassins

Roosevelt was saved by a 50-page speech that slowed down the bullet. Schrank said he was told by President William McKinleyls ghost to kill TR. Schrank was committed to an insane asylum . Arthur Bremer, who shot candidate George Wallace, wasn't insane according to his trial jury, but he definitely had a number of psychological problems. Booth may not be in the same category as any of the above, but not all assassins are motivated by insanity, paranoia, or perceived personal mistreatement. Political assassination is motivated by oppression, ethnic conflicts, socioeconomic conditions, or ideology. |
