I was reading some info on the CIA website that was classified at the end of WWII - Namely "The Invasion of Japan at the end of WWII." They discuss every option that the US considered. whether to surround the Islands and starve them out, or Invade, etc. They chose the "Bomb" solution. What was more Secret than that? They show how many men that would be on each side etc. etc. They show ALL THE DETAILS. Yet, That isn't classified now. I'm not sure that the Society carries much clout with the CIA, especially now that we have lost Gen. Tidwell and Dave Gaddy (assuming that Dave's ties to NSA would be acceptable to the CIA). However, I do think that approaching the Kentucky "historians/politicians" from the standpoint of a museum wanting to know details related to their history might be a strong point, especially since that museum is owned by a government agency that was chartered by the State of Maryland in 1927. If you would like to share contacts with me, I will be happy to address the request on letterhead of that agency. |
