Kate Clifford Larsen has given her opinion on this photo of a much younger Tubman:

This find certainly gives us a much better perspective as to the appearance of Harriet during the years that she did the work for which she is best known. I can now erase my previous mental picture of an older, seemingly debilitated, woman.
