The New York Tribune is one of the newspapers on the site but I couldn't find the original using a quick wording search from the title for some reason. Although, the article I found does say it originally came from the Tribune. You might be able to use the site and article to find the original article with a more thorough search.

i know the article exists. i made a note regarding it but cannot locate it any longer. Can anyone here help? I think it was from the NY Tribune and was printed somewhere in late 1863 to early 1864.

in fact, I'm sure that's where i found out about it! i was there last year and had made as many copies of "stuff" as my few hours would allow and could not find the darn thing!
