As I said, I have read his books. But even brilliant people have been known to be wrong about some things. Both Oscar Wilde (The Soul of Man Under Socialism) and Albert Einstein (Why Socialism) thought that socialism would work and was the wave of the future. Einstein also believed that nuclear power would never be obtainable. Ezra Pound praised Mussolini. Thomas Edison though direct current would win out over Tesla's alternating current. Newton believed in witches and demons, at least for a while. H.G. Wells thought that submarines were unworkable. And Lord Kelvin thought that heavier than air flying machines were impossible. John |
