RE: New Search - HELP
I was only joking about headaches for the sake of a little levity, not to be taken personally, and I also want to know what the truth is. It is untrue that I only want to bolster Weichmann. When I studied a couple of solid resource books and discovered that Richards' account of the events in the alley behind Fords was supported by the evidence--that's not quibbling with words. No witness supported Stewart's alleyway heroics. It's also not quibbling to source more eyewitness testimony regarding the fact that some of the audience believed Grant was there or soon would be, when Susan mentioned Grant as a strike against Richards' account.
Another point is that Stewart himself put 2 of the "police corps" in the alley with him. It's an important nuance, not a quibble, as I see it, that Richards told Weichmann to leave Stewart's story in his book, and his reasons for saying so. For one thing it was you who suggested that Weichmann's not using Richard's version was proof that Weichmann didn't believe Richards' story. An "egotist wanting the limelight" would have insisted or at least tried to persuade Weichmann to tell his story. "I desire to thank you, sir, for your testimony on behalf of my murdered father." "Who are you, sonny? " asked I. "My name is Tad Lincoln," was his answer. |
