Friendship and working together will eventually make things work. I wish that you could have been in the audience at Surratt House yesterday to see about 60 African Americans and 25 Caucasian Americans listening to a wonderful black professor and then spending time working in tandem to discuss both history and future. There was not one agitator in the group who was trying to defeat the purpose of our museum to present an educational opportunity. I should have added that one member of the Caucasian audience had driven from North Augusta, SC in order to hear Dr. Medford because she has admired her for years while watching C-Span. |
