I second that Jim Twins! I'd rather have soft shells than hard shells any day. Besides my mother's, my favorite ones were at a little shack in Benedict that got thrown about ten feet onto land after a hurricane about 8 years ago and never rebuilt.

I have often wondered if those Union troops that occupied Southern Maryland during the Civil War ever appreciated the fried chicken, crabs, rock fish, oysters, and Maryland stuffed ham that I bet they sampled on some of their home invasions.
