RE: Booth at Green Mount
Bryantown Tavern
30 November 2014 Over the years, I have been on several historical society tours (such as two or three conducted by the now-disbanded Preservation Association for Tudor Hall) and during stops at the three Lincoln conspirators' grave sites at Greenmount Cemetery - which includined the Booth family site - it was pointed out that JWB is buried immediately behind the back side of the Booth obelisk; i.e. on/under the plot of empty ground on which the photographer was standing when Photograph #6 - 4th from the bottom) was taken. Both Mike Kauffman (who was one of the P.A.T.H tour guides during one of the outings) and James O. Hall (who personally told me this several other times) concurred with this opinion. Given the rather cluttered nature of most of the Booth family site, the back-of-the-obelisk location for JWB also makes good sense; and technically fulfills the Booth/U.S. government agreement that the JWB plot not have a specifically-named stone marker (although his name is on the "To the Memory of..." list.
