Sobering to know that Dahlgren held the poor guide responsible for the overflowing river and had him hanged. What a guy.

I remember reading about this in a class I took in college. If I remember right, this tragedy was certified as true. In my opinion, Dahlgren was nothing short of a cold blooded murderer. He deserved what he got. I'm surprised that Elizabeth "Crazy Bets" Van Lew held him in such high esteem.
