It is printed in full in "The Lincoln Anthology: Great Writers on His Life and Legacy from 1860 to Now" which was published in 2009. I have a copy. I need to advise you..if you ever have trouble falling asleep some night Herndon's lecture on Ann Rutledge is just the ticket. Forget wine, warm milk, or sleeping pills. He spends at least 2-3 pages describing the scenery...the hills, streams, meadows of New Salem. I wanted to scream, and in fact I didn't finish it. It was the most boring, silly thing I've ever read! |
