In the only Carnegie book I have read about Lincoln, Carnegie borrowed heavily from Herndon. I am in the middle of reading "Mary Lincoln Biography of A Marriage" by Ruth Painter Randall. A very enjoyable book. She doesn't care for Herndon's view of Mary and she does a nice job of explaining why. So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in? |
