RE: Dave Taylor's talk in Port Royal.
I had a grand time presenting at Port Royal about a subject so closely related to the surroundings. Best of all, however, was looking out and seeing the familiar faces of Lindsey, John Stanton and Bob Cook in the front row to help put me at ease. I found that quite quickly I deviated from my script and was pretty much talking off the cuff about a subject I enjoy so much.
By the way, Bob Cook will be presenting at the meeting of the Caroline County Historical Society in Bowling Green on Sunday. His talk will be about living on the John Wilkes Booth escape route and his many exploits in the field. I would love to attend his speech, however I have already made plans to drive up to Tudor Hall in order to heckle...err..support Jim Garrett as he will be giving a talk about John Wilkes Booth and his childhood at Tudor Hall. It's clearly the busy season for us Boothies. |
