Terry Alford and I were discussing this this afternoon - going much higher than the usual $2-3000. We had not seen whose collection it was from, but the Gutmans' was one of our guesses. Everyone associates them with Booth photos, but they had a great collection of other paper ephemera also. Several of us visited with them back in the 1970s, and the collection was good then. I can only imagine what else they added over the years.

How many of you knew that Richard is also an expert on the history of the great American diners? Remember the Blue Plate Specials?
