That's what makes professional archaeologists foam at the mouth - I know because I work with two that hate amateurs. They have no idea how much damage they can do. I just turned down Nat Geo Channel last month with their request to film a segment at Surratt House on archaeological digs -- using their "professionals."
I would like to comment on the yellow map above. We have no idea where this came from. There seems to be a name in the lower left-hand corner, and it may begin with Sam. We've shown it on many Booth Tours. Carefully look at all the descriptive notes. This artist appears to have been one of those amateur archaeologists. Look for the site where he found "a spur." Of course it would have to belong to Booth. The Garrett family would never have ridden horses!!! |
