Wonderful story! It reminds me of another story-an elderly Wyatt Earp in Hollywood talking with an aspiring actor named Marion Morrison-a k a "John Wayne."

Earp also spent a lot of time in the 1920's talking with a young filmaker named John Ford

Yes, you're right! I like to think that John Wayne and Mr. Ford took Wyatt Earp's words and created the "legend" of the West on the silver screen directly from him.
