Hmmmm - the Lost Colony at Roanoke, eh?
Well.....at last report, I think that they took a trip up to Maryland and somehow were lost in the Zekiah Swamps. Research has determined that all that was found was the word "Croton" carved on a tree.... more or less a reference to a high end watch. Some of these watches do have compasses in the watch face.... However, I don't know how reliable the compass is. Later, Booth and Herold would also use a fancy compass which may have also been a Croton product....
