RE: Unwanted Facts, blah, blah, blah
Nope. You're all wrong. I have it on good authority (a friend of mine was traveling out east and someone gave him a pamphlet walking down the sidewalk) that Mary Lincoln was the one who shot Abe in the box at Ford's. Who cares about the fieldglasses? Sense the sarcasm yet? Always a fun discussion, though!

Paul, your friend's pamphlet is right on - the author of the pamphlet obtained his research here: https://www.doubleuoglobebrand.com/vol11/cn11-32.html I wonder if the name of the pamphlet's author was also withheld by request... |

Quote:But Mary Todd also owned a derringer with a white pearl handle....that fact is in the National Archives. Would that be in the records of the Office of First Lady Firearms? Quote:Mary Todd like so many high society persons in Washington D.C. during the 1860s was an opium addict... that fact is in the Library of Congress. In the same box as the originals of the Andrew Potter papers, no doubt. Best Rob Abraham Lincoln is the only man, dead or alive, with whom I could have spent five years without one hour of boredom. --Ida M. Tarbell
I want the respect of intelligent men, but I will choose for myself the intelligent. --Carl Sandburg

Someone really must get this to the New York Times or MSNBC and get the word out. (Again, anyone sense the sarcasm?) |
