RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia
Abrham Lincoln
If my Lincoln guess is wrong, I will try Franklin Roosevelt, because he died in Georgia, I believe. |

RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia
Those are definitely good and logical guesses, Gene and Roger.
But Kudos to Bill - indeed it was Warren Harding. Harding died in California and his remains came back to Washington via train. The funeral train departed San Francisco on August 3, 1923, and arrived in Washington on August 7, 1923. There is a short film on Harding's funeral train coming through Chicago. Previous to asking this question I had never seen the clip before. http://mirc.sc.edu/islandora/object/usc:24620 |

RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia
Lincoln. He was dead less than 12 hours after leaving his White House office.
So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in? |

RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia
Kudos, Laurie! It was Polk.
James K. Polk lived only 103 days after leaving office. He was 53 years old when he passed away on June 15, 1849. Gene, you are a winner, too. (I just didn't mean the question the way you interpreted it.) |

After leaving office, he and his wife decided to visit parts of the U.S. before settling into retirement. He got caught up in a cholera epidemic and died. He was buried in a mass grave with 32 other cholera victims for over a year. |

RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia
I can picture Mary Lincoln at an auction saying that, but it's to obvious so I'll guess Bess Truman,
which may explain this hat http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/736x/e...f1631b.jpg So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in? |

RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia
Gene and Eva, it was not Mary Lincoln or Bess Truman.
Hint #1: This First Lady has been mentioned occasionally on the forum. |

I am sorry, Bill, but it's not Lady Bird Johnson.
Hint #2: It is a 20th century First Lady. |
