My son's best friend since the 6th grade became a cop and was shot and killed about 4 years ago just before Christmas. At the funeral who shows up in the back but Mike Illitch offering the family not only passes to the Red Wings and Tigers game in the owners box but a limo ride to and from for any of their guests. Just amazing and completely unexpected. Couldn't have been nicer trying to help the family through a trying time. Did it for no other reason but the goodness of his heart. Undoubtedly he did this for many others.
