RE: Trivia Advent Calendar
Very good guesses everyone, however, Thomas' memory didn't fail as for part#1. Now - how is this sofa linked to the very Lincoln saga?

Good question, Roger - no, it isn't.
Any idea who it is? |

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar
It's not right, but in the spirit of Christmas, I'll guess (because the civilian clothes) John Hay and Madrid, Spain.
So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in? |

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar
That is a statue of Walt Whitman which stands in Russia. It was unveiled a few years back by the person who received the most votes in the recent Presidential election, Hillary Clinton. I remember stumbling across an old news story about it during the recent campaign. If I remember correctly there's a counterpart statue of a Russian writer (can't recall who) somewhere in the U.S.

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar
Kudos, Dave, that is correct (I didn't even know about the unveiling). I found it here when searching for more about the Abraham Lincoln statue in Moscow Roger once discovered.

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar
Welcome back to Day 9 of the Trivia Advent Calendar fun! A lot of things show up here - photos of famous people, buildings, relics and places.
Today's submission showcases two of the aforementioned at once. Winner takes all for two points if you can guess both. I've never seen this one before, so I hope it works... RE: Trivia Advent Calendar
Is it the entrance to the Carroll family vault where Willie Lincoln was interred in 1862?

Well it looks like someone standing outside of Ford's Theatre. There's not enough to guess who it is however.
