RE: Who is this person?
All great guesses but Susan's is correct. Laurie, good observation on the colonial era dress. Susan you win a pair of hot lavender shoes made by Martha's Parisian shoemaker.
Anthropologists used a 1796 portrait to generate an updated image of how Martha Washington might’ve looked in her 20s. Here's the 1796 portrait. Check out the article. "Martha Washington was a hottie, historians now say" http://www.chron.com/life/mom-houston/ar...721934.php |

RE: Who is this person?
Thanks, Anita. Wish I had made it to Mount Vernon. The Lincolns did:

RE: Who is this person?
Well, it's obviously not Gideon Wells (although wearing the same bearddo). My next guesses would be a bearded John Cleese, or Leonardo da Vinci...
An older Cipriano Ferrandini? |

RE: Who is this person?
Good try, Eva! But it's not him.
Hint #1: Although he has a connection to Lincoln, I do not believe this man has ever been mentioned by name on the forum. |

RE: Who is this person?
Hint #2: The word "friend" is involved in figuring out who this person is.

RE: Who is this person?
HA - is it that Lemen that claimed having been a friend of Lincoln although it's as unlikely as could be?

RE: Who is this person?
Good thinking, Eva, but it's not Lemen.
Hint #3: The "friend" was not Lincoln's. But still there was a connection between the two. |

RE: Who is this person?
Hint #4: I believe it is unknown exactly why this man wanted to see Lincoln.
