On the topic of locks of hair, has anyone claimed to have any of the other conspirators locks of hair? It certainly looks like Powell, Azerodt, and Herold received haircuts before their execution. I would not be surprised if whomever dispensed the hair cut was approached for a momento.

The male conspirators had their hair cut twice in prison - once in June and again on July 4th - their barber was one Private Alexander Foley, Company B, 10th Regiment of the Veteran Reserve Corps.

You would think that either Foley or others would have taken hair as mementos.....

Lock of Booth's hair taken by John Peddicord sold by Heritage Auction on September 17, 2016 (see link for details and picture). It is in good hands.

In John Wilkes Booth: Day by Day Art Loux mentions an article entitled "About John Wilkes Booth, Roanoke Gentleman Saw Corpse." The article was in the Roanoke Evening News, June 6, 1903. The article is about Dr. John Peddicord. Can anyone post this article?

Attached are scans of the article, copy of a copy of a copy,etc, so let me know if you can't read something and I will reply.One such example is at the end of the first section which reads "on the monitor Montauk, supposed to be in danger of violence. He says:". Another account uses "mob violence" instead of just "violence".
