Surratt House received its Booth's diary replica today, and it is wonderful. I'm now in the process of figuring out a new exhibit case in which to display it and the CDVs of Booth's "groupies." Thank you, Dave Taylor and Pasquale, for making these available to the public.

Ironically, my Booth bobblehead (which I keep at my home office instead of on display with my "great Americans" collection at work) was also decapitated when I took it out of the box. JWB still has an awkward tilt to his head.

RE: Booth diary - best birthday ever
I looked on eBay to see whether the type of diary Booth used, with the leather cover, was commonly sold there. I saw some that were similar.

One, in particular, covering six months in 1864, discussed crossing the Rappahannock River and the town of Port Royal.

Note the asking/buy-it-now price: $1,500!!!
