Did she associate with Tom Jones? If she did I didn't know that!

Hey, Bill--

I seem to remember they did a TV special or some such thing back in the late '60s or early '70s. I know they recorded some duets.

That kind of music wasn't then and isn't now my cup of tea, so what I remember at all was learned involuntarily!

The last I heard of Nancy Sinatra, she was riding cross-country with Paul Revere (of Paul Revere and the Raiders) on a motorcycle. Now, Paul Revere and the Raiders were more my style, especially when they appeared on Where the Action Is.

OMG - ya'll are taking ME back.....

Better make that THREE people!!

I had a pair of those white "Go-Go Boots" (they were all the rage with teenage girls!) - and a Mo-hair sweater. I was 13 years old.... I think it all started with Twiggy....

Loved Mark Lindsey and Paul Revere and the Raiders - and yes, I remember "Where the Action Is!"

Betty and Jim: I'm with you-loved Where The Action Is- and Hullabaloo- while I'm thinking of those shows. Oh, and of course, American Bandstand.

I emailed Mark Lindsey fifteen years or so ago, when I had some silly question about some esoteric music subject, and he was nice enough to answer in a very friendly fashion. At that time, he said that he and his son were in a Raiders-like band.

I also emailed with Roger McGuinn, of the Byrds, and he was also very cordial and informative. Derek Taylor was another person I briefly corresponded with; he was an early press agent for both the Beatles and the Byrds. He was also an authority on 1930s bluesman Robert Johnson, who was the subject of our discussions.

I thought that Mark Lindsey was a heck of a vocalist and that Paul Revere and the Raiders was one of the finest rock/rhythm and blues bands ever. Their bass player, Phil Volk, aka Fang, had a huge influence on my bass playing.

Wow Jim that is awesome! I too was a Raiders fan. They are under-rated, in my opinion. Have they made it to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?

LincolnMan, I have a question for you. I have been an Elvis Fan for many years and never knew that he and Lincoln had a ancestral link. What was there connection? I would be very interested in knowing. Thanks. Gary P.

Gary: I just arrived at work and am not able to access my Lincoln blog. But if you go to Abesblogcabin.org and put in "Elvis" in the search box- you find my blog post about the Elvis and Lincoln connection.

I love the twists and turns, from the Booth Boot Hoax to "Where the Action Is", song by Freddy "Boom Boom" Cannon. Jim Page needs to start a old Rock N Roll (not Wok N Roll) blog. Lin Wray, here we come.

Hey, Jim--

As a fancier of Les Paul guitars, you may be to blame for putting the bug in my ear about those things when we got together a couple of months ago. Last week I got a Les Paul Custom 50th Anniversary model made by Epiphone. Found it on eBay from a seller who got it as a present from the Gibson rep who services his store down in Florida. It had never even been plugged in.

Took me two days to clean up all the dust and grime it had from hanging on his wall at home for 11 years!!! As long as Patty doesn't notice another guitar in the house, I'm a happy camper!!!
