Booth's lid - J. Beckert - 07-19-2012 07:26 PM

I don't know what thread this came up in, but I think Bill Nash asked about Booth's hat. This one came up for auction a few years ago at Sloans & Kenyon's gallery and was from the collection of newsman Tucker Carlson's father. I've heard nothing of the provenance, but someone who saw it up close (Nan) said the signature on the card looked very much like Booth's. I would think something like this had to be recovered from his room at the National, but I've never seen it listed on the limited list I've seen of items recovered from there.

It went for a little over $3,000.
