In 1817, Richard Lailor Shiel published his play The Apostate, which premiered in England. On March 18,1865, The Apostate would earn its spot in infamy as being the last acting role of John Wilkes Booth. The plot is largely unknown, until now. I came across the script on the Digital Library from Duke University and thought I would share it. Enjoy:
