Railroad Time table - Wash. - Balt. - SSlater - 12-04-2016 10:58 PM We are guessing too much. Here is a bit of information I accumulated when I was searching Sarah. I was interested in how the spies got to Canada. Here is the Washington- Baltimore timetable (to and from) provide by the National Railroad Historical Society for the 1860's. B & O Trains Washington to Baltimore. Dep. 7:00AM 8:00AM 12:30PM 4:30PM 7:00PM 8.45PM Arv. 8.35AM 9.15AM 2.00PM 6.05PM 8.25PM 10.15PM B & O Trains Baltimore to Washington Dep. 3:50AM 7:05AM 8:20AM 9:45AM 3:15PM 4:14PM 8:20PM Arv. 5:15AM 8:30AM 9:50AM 11:30AM 5:00PM 5:45PM 9:50PM Train time was between 1Hr-15Min. and 1Hr-45 min. (One way) Fare was $1.50 (about 3 cents / mile. 12 stops each way. This is a Railroad Time Table. Did you ever hear of a train being "on time"? In their defense, I can offer - A Train Company set their schedules based on the time at their Headquarters. That makes a mess if they cross into another time zone (If there was one!)
