OK - a bit of levity -- Was doing some research this afternoon and found this:

I knew it was hot, on July 7, 1865 --- but was it really THAT hot?!?!?

Were the condemned conspirators given baths or a swim before they were hanged?

I just know that Betty is going to come up with a cartoon to cover this one! BTW, did I ever tell you about the Christmas week evening that I arrived in my office at Surratt House to prepare for our annual candlelight tours? Hanging from my file cabinets were a gingerbread lady and three gingerbread men with twine around their necks. That was my Christmas present from Betty O.
