Sumter was constructed. Waite Rawls, Co-Executive Director of the American Civil War Museum / Museum of the Confederacy provided a great deal of research. Most of the stone was brought down by barge from a quarry in Rockport Ma. Waite even had receipts for the rock from Rockport. |
