A Conspirator's Christmas - BettyO - 12-14-2015 01:14 PM To get a bit back on track.... We DO know how Lew Powell spent Christmas Eve in 1864. According to a newspaper report dated 1902, while serving with Mosby, Powell captured a Union soldier in snowy Warrenton, VA. RE: A Conspirator's Christmas - BettyO - 12-14-2015 01:53 PM I made the graphics up to "illustrate" the story. It is a public domain story which was printed in various newspapers in 1902 - apparently true. This was one of the Union soldiers whom Powell captured in 1864, the story of which was recounted during the conspiracy trial by Mr. and Mrs. Grant of Warrenton. RE: A Conspirator's Christmas - Gene C - 12-14-2015 01:58 PM Very nice Betty |
