The University of Illinois at Springfield will present tonight, April 30, "Mourning Father Abraham: Lincoln's Assassination and the Public's Response." The speakers are Michael Burlingame, Martha Hodes, and Louis Mazur. The program is being web cast. Here's the url: http://www.uis.edu/technology/uislive/. We attended and it was spectacular!
Doors opened at 6 but at ten past five all seats for the main auditorium were taken! They had video screens throughout the University for overflow seating and all rooms were crowded.
