Fords Theatre today - Rsmyth - 04-14-2015 12:23 PM Anyone in or around Ford's Theatre today? What is going on? RE: Fords Theatre today - Jim Page - 04-14-2015 01:06 PM Too bad there aren't streaming Webcams of the goings on down there! That would be great! --Jim RE: Fords Theatre today - Rsmyth - 04-14-2015 01:34 PM Uhmmm! Jim Garrett is driving the trolley around. Maybe he can video using his phone. RE: Fords Theatre today - ReignetteC - 04-14-2015 02:50 PM I am about to arrive at Union Station and will soon be at the site. I'll be happy to provide an update. RE: Fords Theatre today - Angela - 04-14-2015 02:57 PM I just landed and will be in the city hopefully in two hours. Heading right to Fords RE: Fords Theatre today - ReignetteC - 04-14-2015 04:03 PM The lilacs survived the bumpy train ride. Weather: Cool, dreary and low 50s. RE: Fords Theatre today - Dave Taylor - 04-14-2015 04:07 PM Kate and I are about to head up there. Nothing like putting in a full day of teaching before going to a late night vigil. RE: Fords Theatre today - Susan Higginbotham - 04-14-2015 04:44 PM My hotel is full of ladies in hoop skirts! Getting ready to head out. RE: Fords Theatre today - Jim Page - 04-14-2015 06:31 PM The lilacs look beautiful! Wow! Yes; the weather is not as wonderful as it could be, but that may actually be close to what the weather was in 1865. Wasn't it drizzling rain that night? --Jim RE: Fords Theatre today - LincolnToddFan - 04-14-2015 06:47 PM Lilacs...the official mourning flower of the Lincoln assassination. Very lovely and appropriate. Thanks for sharing it with the unhappy Forum member stuck out West in El Lay. ETA: Jim it was indeed misting as President and Mrs. Lincoln arrived at Ford's and as the evening went on it began to rain. RE: Fords Theatre today - ReignetteC - 04-14-2015 10:16 PM The all-night vigil has begun. RE: Fords Theatre today - Jim Page - 04-14-2015 10:32 PM Nice photo! Thanks. RE: Fords Theatre today - John E. - 04-14-2015 11:53 PM Checking in with some photos from Ford's. The photos taken from the back of Ford's were done so at approximately 10:20 pm. No one else thought to go back there at that time! I was more than a little surprised. RE: Fords Theatre today - LincolnToddFan - 04-15-2015 01:17 AM Oh my God...look at that crowd...similar to what it must have been like 150 years ago tonight...but of course without the shock, confusion and chaos of April 14 1865. Thanks so much for sharing the photos!! RE: Fords Theatre today - RJNorton - 04-15-2015 04:07 AM John, I second Toia. Thank you so much for sharing these photos! |
