Walt Whitman Poem VIDEO - asobbingfilm - 03-18-2015 11:04 AM Here's a clip of Whitman's Poem When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloom'd from an episode of a Sobbing Film. Not the whole thing as time doesn't permit it. Edgar Pace, an eccentric poet from Austin Texas (a legend on the poetry circuit) did the voice and Ken Freudigman, principal cellist from the San Antonio Symphony played The Star Spangled Banner. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/When_Lilacs_Last_in_the_Dooryard_Bloom'd RE: Walt Whitman Poem - RJNorton - 03-18-2015 02:30 PM Walt Whitman said he often saw the President on the streets of Washington as Lincoln traveled about the capital city. Whitman had a tremendous admiration for Lincoln. Whitman felt that Lincoln acknowledged him by nodding to him as he passed by in his carriage. I don't know if this is true or just a product of Whitman's imagination. RE: Walt Whitman Poem - HerbS - 03-18-2015 05:41 PM That poem is very gut-wrenching for me to read, see, and listen to!
